Gardeners Dream Cotoneaster Variegatus - Variegated Foliage, Pink Flowers, Red Berries, Hardy (15-30Cm Height Including Pot) Pink/Red

Cotoneaster Horizontalis 'Variegatus' is a hardy, deciduous, groundcovering shrub with dark green leaves, each delicately edged in white and which turn pink-red in autumn. In late spring, small pink flowers will appear that eventually form bright red berries in autumn, attracting birds into your garden. The herringbone patterning of its branches makes it a particularly appealing structural plant and it can be trained up walls and fences on wires. This shrub can be planted in moderately fertile, well-drained soil. It will grow well in shaded areas but its flowers and berries will be more prolific if grown in a sunny spot. After flowering, lightly cut back any branches that spoil the symmetry of the plant. In autumn trim back lightly any branches that obscure the display of fruit. Please Note: Images are for illustrative purposes only and designed to be a representation of the item(s) being sold. Depending on seasonality, deciduous plants may be supplied in their dormant state and without leaves. Plants may also be pruned back, lower than stated heights, to encourage new growth Characteristics: A low growing and spreading, deciduous shrub bearing small green leaves, margined with white, that turn red in autumn. Small pink flowers appear in spring followed by red autumn berries. Growth & Spread: Can reach an ultimate height of 1m and spread of 1.5m. Period of Interest: Spring to Autumn foliage interest. Pink flowers in May followed by red berries in autumn. Water & Maintenance: Water regularly after planting and once established very low maintenance. Trim back lightly any branches that obscure the display of fruit in autumn.
