Choose a sunny or semi-shaded area when growing Thompson & Morgan Clematis ‘Nelly Moser’ and plant the climber deeply in moist, fertile, well-drained soil, positioning the root ball at a depth of 7.5cm (3”) below soil level, in order to encourage new shoots to form from the base of the plant. Clematis dislike soils that are particularly wet or dry, however these soil condition can be improved with the addition of plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost. Thompson & Morgan Clematis ‘Nelly Moser’ is ideal for planting by a north facing position as the flowers tend to fade when planted in full sun.
