Let this low-maintenance Mahonia aquifolium loose in a shaded border and it will treat you to a dazzling display of vibrant yellow flowers in spring. Perfect for a tricky spot or woodland gardens, this resilient and unfussy ground cover shrub shoots out multiple stems and will tolerate most conditions, including poor, dry soils often found under trees or within a dense shrubbery. Throughout the year the tough, weatherproof foliage provides a good ground cover, colouring up well through the winter months with blotches of red, orange and mauve. Mahonia plants are prickly evergreens, so are ideal for security planting and deterring burglars and cats from your garden. Grow Mahonia plants in borders or containers in any rich fertile, well drained soil in full sun or semi shade. Refunds
